Direct access to some of the worlds best snow. Grab your gear from the ski valet, dried and toasty boots ready for a day of ripping through powder, the Grand Hirafu high-speed gondola is opposite and you can ski back into the hotel if someone's left the door open. We don't think there's a better spot in Hirafu, but you may just have to come here to find out for yourselves.

Everything about Ki Niseko impressed us from the boot room to the penthouse, the onsen and fantastic views. You'll never get bored catching glimpses of Mt Yotei through every other window, but it's snow every which way you gaze. Just try not to get covered in the stuff when they're clearing the roof. A high-end boutique hotel on the slopes and within striking distance of the town, there's friendly service and you can even book out a private onsen if you don't fancy getting you kegs off in the communal baths.

What we like about Ki Niseko

- Ultimate ski in, ski out location at the top of town
- Ski valets and great ski hire/boot room
- Onsens, check out the private ones if you don't fancy the same sex baths
- The views - something you'll want to wake up for

Worth knowing

- The main hub of Hirafu with the majority of bars and restaurants is a 5-10 minute walk away - there's also a complimentary shuttle
- Equipment hire can be charged to your room
- 50 metres from the ski school meeting point

In upper Hirafu the Ki Niseko has a truly ski in, ski out location adjacent to the Grand Hirafu high-speed gondola so you'll be in the thick of the ski area in record time. There's a ski school meeting point less than 100m from the hotel and you can walk to Hirafu centre in under 10 minutes though if you don't fancy braving the cold then the hotel runs a complimentary shuttle bus as well.
