Lech, Austria
Nestling above the main village is the hamlet of Oberlech. Only accessible in winter by the cable car, Oberlech is car free and is has a delightful, magical feel. Ski in, ski out hotels nestle amongst the pine trees and the busy lunch spots all boast wonderful views - perfect for another gluhwein stop! Beginners and intermediates are well catered for with many well-groomed wide open pistes, particularly around Oberlech. The more adventurous should ski ‘The White Circuit', a 20km round route taking in Lech, Zurs and a challenging ski route descent to Zug before finishing back in resort. There is a variety of après-ski options including browsing in the boutiques, basking in the afternoon sun on the café terraces or listening to live music at one of the hotel's ‘Eisbars'.
