St Anton- Snow As We Close
Posted: Monday 14th April 2008 by Amalien Haus Staff
Well that is that for the season, it has been a fantastic time for all here at the Amalien Haus. We would like to say a big thank you to all those who stayed with us. For those who only care for things white, it is currently snowing and the clouds are low in the valley. Blue skies are due to return on Thursday so it may be that the last day of our season will be freshly covered. See you next winter!

St Anton - Hope for a parting of the clouds
Posted: Friday 4th April 2008 by Amalien Haus Staff
As may have been seen on the news in the UK we have seen a lot of snow here in the Arlberg. All is well, though the avalanche risk remains high, the skiing is very good. Today we saw some breaks in the clouds and so enjoyed some good visibility in the fresh snow. Tomorrow was predicted to be clear though it now looks like we will be getting some more snow. It would be good to be snowed-in, but equally a clear sunny day would not be a dissappointment.

St Anton- Two Days of Snow
Posted: Wednesday 2nd April 2008 by Amalien Haus Staff
After a fairly uneventful week or so, which saw warming temperatures and slushy afternoons, clouds have returned to the Arberg and we are apparently due another dump. Two days of snow have been predicted and it looks like it may stay cold a little longer. This brings hope for a snowy end to the season. Let's see if we get a clear cold day before we all have to go home!

Posted: Friday 21st March 2008 by Amalien Haus Staff
Though the clouds have not cleared, despite the fact it is not predicted to stop snowing this week and in the face of low visibility we have all managed to have a fantastic day in deep fresh snow. The Fidler party were literally rolling down the hill in the powder.

St Anton- Clouds and Tired Legs
Posted: Thursday 20th March 2008 by Amalien Haus Staff
Yesterday morning saw a brief gap in the clouds and we all enjoyed skiing the great snow in good visibility. The afternoon, however, was marked by diving temperatures and the return of the clouds. More clouds does mean more snow, though it would be great if the visibility improves!

St Anton- A Window of Blue Sky
Posted: Tuesday 18th March 2008 by Amalien Haus Staff
March continues to deliver snow and this morning we have woken to clearing skies. The clouds (and snow) are due to return this afternoon though this morning is set for a stormer- we have had days of snow and now blue skies! The conditions yesterday were somewhat heavy off piste with the occasional powder mogul on piste, this did not stop the Sullivan party having a great first day.

St Anton- Winter Returns
Posted: Thursday 13th March 2008 by Amalien Haus Staff
We have seen a rollercoaster of temperatures over the past week. Currently we are seeing snow on the high mountain with rain occasionally in the valley. Today, the snow in St Anton and Lech was powder in the morning, however it had become very heavy by the afternoon. We are hoping that the clouds will shed all of their contents before the temperatures start to rise again, as there are rumours of positive temperatures in double figures this weekend.

St Anton- Rain turns to snow
Posted: Tuesday 4th March 2008 by Amalien Haus Staff
After three long days of rain we are finally getting some snow out of the current bout of clouds. Piste conditions today were very changeable as one went from fresh powder mogul to solid rain affected piste. However, things are looking up as the freezing level has hit town and we saw snow in dorfstrasse once more.

St Anton- Cloudy Skies
Posted: Wednesday 27th February 2008 by Amalien Haus Staff
We were promised some snow and the bad weather that comes with it has arrived. The snow conditions are good on piste, however, it has been raining this morning therefore this afternoon will get a little sticky. We are seeing patchy spells of sunshine though the storm is supposed to set in and hopefully deliver some fresh snow. All guests are still sporting goggle tans from the past couple of days of sun.

St Anton- Just a little snow
Posted: Friday 22nd February 2008 by Amalien Haus Staff
The past couple of days have seen the weather worsen and some snow fall. However, the freezing level has, at times, been above the village and so a small amount of rain fell on the Amalien Haus. Yesterday we were skiing in bad visibility but on very good pistes, let's hope the sun comes out tomorrow as promised.
