Set in a stunning valley location with views towards Mont Blanc, Megève attracts a discerning clientele. Parts of the pretty resort centre date back to medieval times and the attractive cobbled streets are home to many upmarket shops, bars and restaurants. The main square hosts a weekly market and is the departure point for horse-drawn sleigh rides.
The ski area is extensive and offers excellent skiing for all abilities over three main areas (Rochebrune, Mont d’Arbois and Le Jaillet). For beginners there are nursery slopes in each area and plenty of runs to progress to and intermediates will be in heaven with a wide choice of tree-lined blues to cruise. The best snow can be found on Mont d’Arbois where advanced skiers will be rewarded with stunning views, steep slopes and opportunities for off-piste. Advanced skiers may also wish to explore further afield and ski in the resorts of Chamonix, Courmayeur and Les Contamines (covered on area lift pass).
