DavosDavos
Davos, the highest town in Europe was one of the first resorts in The Alps to develop ski lifts in the Thirties. Prior to this, it was well known as a health resort and attracted visitors for its breathtaking scenery and pure mountain air. Today the town is an excellent base to explore the extensive ski area, and the immaculate groomed slopes, and super long runs keep skiers of all abilities more than satisfied.

The area, which is interlinked with Klosters offers some truly diverse skiing on 5 different mountains. The main area, Parsenn, is easily accessible by the funicular installed in 2002 and intermediates are particularly well catered for here with an immaculate array of blues and reds. It is, however, the the long runs down from Weissfluhjoch that are most memorable. Four runs varying in length from 10 - 12 km finnish in the villages of Kublis, Saas, Serneus and Klosters - don’t miss one of the tempting ‘schwendi’ huts for a pit-stop on the way to the bottom!

Explore the other areas of Jakobshorn, Rinerhorn, Pischa and Madrisa to fully appreciate this fabulous region. Jakobshorn is closest to the Platz end of town and is a favourite with skiers and snowboarders alike. Lunch can be taken at the small and cosy Chalet Guggel and the apres ski starts straightaway at the bottom of the slopes.

Non skiers will also find many mountain restaurants are accessible via the lift system. In town, world class ice hockey, cross country skiing, ice skating, swimming, art galleries, museums, spas, and some great shopping all vie for attention.
