Make an enquiry about a ski break to Lech.
Lech, along with its neighbour Zurs, is among the most fashionable resorts in Austria. The village centre is chic, but retains an alpine charm with most of its upmarket hotels built in traditional chalet style. Lech is in a beautiful setting and has an excellent snow record making it a favourite for short ski breaks and more traditional seven-night skiing holidays.
Nestling above the main village is the hamlet of Oberlech. Only accessible in winter by the cable car, Oberlech is car free and has a delightful, magical feel. Ski in, ski out hotels nestle amongst the pine trees and the busy lunch spots all boast wonderful views - perfect for another gluhwein stop!
beginners and intermediates
Lech has two nursery slopes where you can learn the ropes with the well regarded Skischule. Heading up to the Petersboden lift above Oberlech you will find a number of wide blue and red runs for cruising. Intermediates will benefit from the Arlberg pass and can explore Zurs, Stuben, St Christoph and St Anton. Schlegelkopt is probably the best slope to head for or you can head up to the snowy plateau of Oberlech that has two easy lifts and a number of wide blue runs. Lech is much more suited to intermediate skiers with a selection of red and blue runs in resort and leading out to the surrounding Arlberg ski area.
advanced and off piste
The Arlberg ski area is great for advanced skiers with 50% of the piste dedicated to this ability and 'The White Circuit' is by far one of the most popular advanced routes with a race taking place every year. A 22km round route taking in Zurs and a challenging ski route descent to Zug before finishing back in Lech. Off piste skiers will adore this resort with it's challenging open powder terrain being one of the main attractions, you'll be able to enjoy the marked off piste runs on your own .
apres ski
Lech ski resort has a variety of après-ski options including browsing in the boutiques, basking in the afternoon sun on the café terraces or listening to live music at one of the hotel's ‘Eisbars'.
Lech isn't known for busy and lively apres-ski but the resort certainly has a lot to offer. Lech is much more relaxed than its neighbour St Anton but you'll still be able to go out and enjoy yourself with two nightclubs to choose from and a few bars that are open late. For those looking to unwind after a hard day on the slopes there are over 50 restaurants in Lech offering a more sophisticated atmosphere and a selection of different menu options ranging from international gourmet cuisine to traditional specialties.
