Christmas turkey and untouched pistes...

'Snow is falling… all around me…' It’s snow snow snow here at the Amalien Haus and although the UK may have a white Christmas there’s nothing as festive and special as Christmas in St Anton. Everyone is getting into the festive spirit and it’s hard to resist the charm that St Anton exudes with its fairy lit streets, Christmas markets, and plentiful supplies of Gluhwien as people wander through the snowy village.

The folks here at the Amalien Haus are having a great Christmas and enjoying the festive cheer in St Anton, superb skiing conditions and endless delicious treats. With a host of new arrivals on Wednesday, the Chalet is bustling with chatter and laughter throughout all 5 floors. Christmas Eve was relatively quiet in resort as it’s then that most Austrians celebrate Christmas. Consequently some fantastic skiing was had by all without too many queues!

The Maddox & Wimbleton party have certainly enjoyed a good few days of skiing over the last week thanks to the great snow conditions we’ve had. A heavy snowfall on Monday night, and again on Tuesday meant the powder hunters were out exploring the great off-piste to be had here in St Anton. Some, with our resident Ski Event Managers, ventured the fresh, untouched pistes where “no man had been before…”, well, at least thus far on the day they skied!

Today sitting amongst a lull of Christmas music and festive cheer the guests were treated to a traditional Christmas lunch with terrine starter, main turkey dinner with all the trimmings and Christmas pudding, all rounded off with a selection of cheese and endless wine.

The next fortnight is set to be a ball with the start of the weekly St Anton Ski Show, and a number of concerts!

With New Years just around the corner and parties a plenty, St Anton is a great place to be at this time of year. I only hope that you come experience it too!
