The end of another great season in St Anton...

The past few days have seen the arrival of our last guests to the Amalien Haus; Danny Schweiger and his group of friends have joined us to make the most of the last of the snow. In fact, in many ways this is one of the best weeks of the season to visit St Anton for a group like Danny’s, thanks to the almost endless end of season celebrations at all the bars and restaurants in resort.

Saturday saw the end of an era with the Krazy Kangaruh closing party, where every one from resort joined in to celebrate. Many of the visitors and guests in resort joined in as soon as possible and got the festivities going at 4pm. The atmosphere was somewhat reminiscent of a school reunion with everyone saying their hellos and goodbye all at once, whilst laughing over the great times had here in resort. As the evening went on, it was evident that the Kangaruh wasn’t going to make its usual closing time of 9pm, and before long, the staff who thought they had to miss out on all the fun started arriving in folds of taxis. The Kangaruh was buzzing! For some, skiing back down will be something they will never forget, or will they? Needless to say, the next morning, the village was more reminiscent of a ghost town than a ski resort.

It has been snowing since yesterday evening here in resort making for some great end of season conditions for Danny and his group. With more closing parties on the way, and the departure of our final guests for the season tomorrow, the end of another great season in St Anton is drawing near.
