75% of St Anton is open...

Posted: Friday 18th December 2009 by amalien

The last few days in St Anton have seen a good amount of the white stuff and the slopes have benefited all the more from it. With nearly 75% of the lifts in St Anton now open the season is really starting to take shape. David Gosling and his group have certainly kept us entertained over the last few days with some great skiing. We had a slow start to their final ski day, with some of the group splitting to different areas to take in their favourite runs under some clear blue skies. Spirits were high and, as it was their final day, the group were keen to start the all important après ski early and by 3pm the festivities where starting to get under way in the Krazy Kanguruh where the group settled in for the afternoon. Undoubtedly, by the end of the session the last little run home became some what ambitious. The night ended with an awards ceremony in the Amalien Haus – the awards covered a wide variety of feats, including last one to bed, last one up, and last on the slopes!!

The conditions this week are set to really try us as the temperature drops to a chilly -45 degrees on top which means they will be pumping snow on to the slopes whether it snows or not, guaranteeing good conditions for all!

With the first week of the season come and gone, and the Rendlbahn lift, new for 2009, opening later this week, time really is passing by!
