A fresh blanket of St Anton snow...

Posted: Thursday 28th January 2010 by amalien

Is there anything better than waking up in a ski resort to a blanket of snow? Surely not! Here in St. Anton we have been anticipating a decent snowfall! Over the next two days we are expecting a snowfall of nearly a foot with the clouds due to part in two and reveal a bright blue sky on Saturday morning giving us some fantastic conditions both on and off piste – news that will please all, especially those powder hounds!

We bid a sad farewell to the Johnston party, from Northern Ireland, who have left us with some fantastic memories of how a ski holiday should be! In the meanwhile, the Knight party who arrived yesterday are looking anxiously at the white out conditions that can be viewed from the dining room window of the Amalien Haus whilst eating their cooked breakfast of fresh croissants, bacon, eggs, hash browns, grilled tomatoes and sautéed button mushrooms. I think a day of low altitude skiing through the winding tree lined pistes of Nasserien and Rendl is in order – perhaps with a particular emphasis on the Hot Chocolate stops and whipped cream (with plenty of Stroh Rum of course!). With two more groups joining us today, the Amalien Haus will, yet again, be full and buzzing with the chatter of guests.

We hope you can come and join us!
