Blue bird skies and perfect snow
Posted: Thursday 19th January 2012 by Saintlouis
Courchevel has been spoiling us this week with blue-bird skies and perfect snow. With the Three Valley links open, the temptation to visit Val Thorens has been too great for some, allowing those staff with a day off to engage in a beverage or two at the Folie Douce.
As Christmas and New Year become a distant memory, the Hotel Saint Louis is preparing for the next big arrival of guests. Our first corporate clients are a modest group of 41, providing a welcome challenge for our team of Ski Event Managers.
Many a lunchtime burger and pizza have been consumed by the Magic Ski School’s students. On a Tuesday and Thursday, we are delighted to have the children’s lessons lunch with us at the hotel. To keep the children occupied, we transform the dining room into a mini cinema for their own film screening. This week Wall-E was the weapon of choice – the perfect accompaniment to any cheeseburger I’m sure you’ll agree.
Night skiing has proved very popular with guests and staff alike. Peter and Olly have been seen popping grinds in the family park before indulging in a free hot cognac outside Chalet des Pierres; whilst Rosie and Fleur attacked the luge run down to Courchevel 1550 on their trusty red toboggan.
Sadly we had to say goodbye to Angus this week after a short but productive stay. One of the Hotel Saint Louis staff from last season, Angus was a lifesaver, jetting back to Courchevel to help out for a few weeks whilst one of our staff recovered from a broken wrist. His return to the Saint Louis reunited him with old friends and kindled new relationships; his moves both on and off the piste will be sorely missed.
