Breakfast with views over Mont Blanc...
Posted: Wednesday 3rd March 2010 by leonardo
Yesterday was a gorgeous day in Méribel with hot sunshine and not a cloud in the sky. It was the perfect day to take clients on a ski orientation day to Val Thorens so, whilst Darragh guided the Herbert party, I took the Kannon and Dobson guests. We all met for lunch on the terrace on the Chalet de Caron, at the base of the Caron bubble in Val Thorens itself, and then headed to La Folie Douce for some live music and après ski. The atmosphere was buzzing, as always, so much so that Dave Dobson jumped up on the table and danced in his ski boots, luckily Nellie captured it all on camera! We caught last lifts back over to Méribel and went straight to Jacks Bar by La Chaudanne to watch ‘Bring Your Sisters’, a fantastic alpine band where Dave, once again, kept us amused with his outrageous dance moves!
Lucy's(flexiski’s resident Chef)parents nicknamed 'Shroom' and 'Knickers' have been staying in Chalet Leonardo for the past few days and as it was chef's night off we all went out for supper at La Refuge to celebrate Knicker's birthday last night. The beef fondue was absolutely delicious and the steak tartar received Lucy's seal of approval!
Méribel’s events calendar is still packed with plenty of activities to keep our guests entertained. Each Thursday in March the Roc de Fer and Olympic chairlifts open early from 8am allowing you to make first tracks on the Face, Grand Duc and Gelinotte pistes. Then you can enjoy a hearty Savoy breakfast on the summit watching the sun rise over the Dent du Burgin and spectacular views of the Mont Blanc – an unforgettable experience.
