Canadian lobster and the Grand Prix piste...

Posted: Wednesday 24th March 2010 by leonardo

It’s all still full steam ahead here in the Chalet Leonardo as I, Méribel’s resident Ski Event Manager, had a fun three days for 6 Welsh ladies in Val d’Isère. We made the most of the gorgeous sunshine and fabulous snow conditions by firstly exploring the Solaise part of the Espace Killy before venturing into the Tignes valley for the following couple of days. We had some delicious lunches at Le Signal (at the top of the Fornet gondola) and Le Perdrix Blanche in town, where Helen tried the delicious fresh Canadian lobster. The girls really enjoyed the green piste 'Grand Prix' and 'Genepy' as the gentle gradient gave them the perfect opportunity to practice their parallel turns.

Chalet Leonardo continues to welcome new guests and say goodbye to others. This week we have a chalet full of travel journalists who are here to write about this year's Altitude Festival taking place in Méribel. This week is not to be missed as it is filled with comedy, live music and DJ’s and runs from 20th March until the 26th March. It promises to be one of the highlights of the whole season with acts including Newton Fawlkner, Al Murray and DJ Yoda!

The weather is fantastic and sunny and more snowfall is forecast for tomorrow – perfect!
