Chalet Leonardo continues to be a hive of activity!

Posted: Friday 19th February 2010 by leonardo

It feels like spring in Méribel today - glorious sunshine and warm temperatures which are unheard of for this early on in the season. However, all this is set to change tomorrow with light snowfalls forecast and unsettled weather next week.

Chalet Leonardo continues to be a hive of activity - last Wednesday, Rosie took guests to Courchevel 1850 as part of their complimentary “Ski Orientation day”. We opted to take the Loze chair lift up and over from the Altiport run in Méribel rather than taking the Saulire bubble to ensure that we stayed on green and blue pistes all day. After a quick stop for lunch in Le Kalikos in Courchevel 1850 we headed back over to Méribel at a leisurely pace. Yesterday, the Dawson family returned to Courchevel 1850 and Rosie took them all the way to the St Martin de Belleville valley before hopping back to Courchevel 1850 in time for a delicious lunch at the Cap Horn.

This Saturday there is an opportunity to have your five minutes of fame by being cast as a film extra for a new French film entitled 'Possessions'. It will be filmed in Méribel in March and April of this winter, starring Julie Depardieu and directed by Eric Guirado. The story is a fictionalised account of a true-life drama in 2003 at the resort of Grand-Bornand in which a family disappeared in mysterious circumstances.

On Sunday, the Aigle piste at Méribel-Mottaret is hosting the French Big Air Snowboard Cup with the Desaxe Trophy up for grabs – so plenty to look forward to!
