Christmas carolling classics...

Chalet Leonardo's guests and staff ventured out together for a Christmas Eve excursion to Barometer, in Mèribel, for some Christmas carolling. We sang our hearts out with a live band to some Christmas classics such as 'We wish you a Merry Christmas' and 'O Come All Ye Faithful'. Mulled wine and mince pies awaited our return to the chalet and we continued to sing our favourites accompanied by one of our guests, Steph Glen, on the guitar.

On Christmas day the Glen family sat down with all the staff to enjoy the astonishing festive feast Lucy had prepared of roast turkey and all the trimmings. Before the Christmas pudding was served, The Glens, very sweetly, gave each of us a Christmas present. Darragh, our Mèribel Resort Manager, received a dinosaur egg that when submerged in water takes 48 hours to hatch. So, after a nail-biting two days a resident pet, named Leonardo, was born!

Our new guests arrived yesterday and there is plenty to keep them entertained whilst they’re here. On Tuesday evening, there is an opportunity to sledge down the Truite pistes from Mottaret to Mèribel or watch the ice hockey league finales between Rouen and Grenoble at the Olympic ice rink. New Year's Eve celebrations are welcomed with a bang in the valley with four separate fireworks displays and a torch lit descent. La Chaudanne is transformed into a snow dance floor with DJ's Stan and Nick, lights, music and fireworks at midnight to welcome in 2010!
