Crystal blue skies over to The Cap Horn...
Posted: Monday 18th January 2010 by leonardo
It's been a busy week here in Méribel as I, Méribel’s Ski Event Manager and Darragh, Méribel’s Resort Manager, had an incredible weekend of Ski Events Management in Courchevel hosting the Creditex party. Despite them arriving late on Friday evening at the Hotel des Neiges, we had a reasonably early start to the skiing on Saturday morning. The weather was perfect as we explored the Courchevel valley under crystal blue skies before heading to Cap Horn for lunch - easy to reach both for beginners and experienced skiers by the Pralong piste. Inside the Cap Horn the founder, Eric Tournier, expressed his love of the sea with a nautical theme creating a festive atmosphere to enjoy the excellent cuisine where the steak comes highly recommended!
We took the afternoon at a more leisurely pace and, after a little relaxation time, we all enjoyed an aperitif in the hotel bar. As supper time approached we made our way to Le Bistrot de la Mangeoire, an individual restaurant with dark interior and delicately delicious food including Les grenouilles (frog’s legs) and escargots (snails)! At around 11pm the atmosphere transformed as guests enjoyed Jeraboams champagne with sparklers and live music!
It snowed heavily over night so we ventured out early to catch the best conditions and we discovered Park City, a red run accessed by the Suisses chairlift, had pristine, untouched powder for us to enjoy. After returning to the hotel, and sampling another delicious three course lunch, we waved goodbye to the guests before skiing back to Méribel to welcome our new guests, the Atfields, to Chalet Leonardo.
