Endless bluebird skies...

Posted: Friday 5th February 2010 by leonardo

Darragh, Méribel’s Resort Manager, and Rosie, Méribel’s Ski Event Manager, were posted to Courchevel for the last 4 days to Ski Event Manage the lively Dawson party.... Not only was the weather fantastic with bluebird days for their entire stay but the snow conditions were also fabulous! As soon as they arrived at the Hotel des Neiges in 1850 they were in and out of the door within seconds and we hit the slopes asap to make the most of their time in resort. A few of the guests had lessons with the gorgeous Oli and Lorenzo from New Generation, whilst the remaining 12 were hosted by Rosie and Darragh. We covered a lot of ground in the first morning heading all the way to the St Martin de Belleville valley. The guests adored the run Jerusalem so much that we had to do it twice! We then squeezed in a run down Mont Vallon, before dashing back to Cap Horn for lunch to meet up with the rest of the group. As always, the atmosphere was fantastic and we were even entertained by a magician during desert; the best trick was when he managed to get Ian's iPhone into a balloon - absolutely incredible!

The following morning we rounded the troops early and made it all the way to Orelle, before having lunch on the terrace at the new restaurant La Fruitiere in Val Thorens. The food was simply delicious, particularly the tiramisu and, the highly recommended, plat de jour. The sun shone for us throughout lunch time and as the live music began we sadly had to set off to make it back to Courchevel before last lifts. After another tiring day, we all dined together in the hotel restaurant before moving to the bar where Jo stole the pianist’s microphone and started a kariokee session, singing his heart out to Dire Straits and Elvis classics, much to the amusement of the other guests!

The following morning of skiing was spent exploring Courchevel 1650 with a quick coffee break at Le Casserole restaurant before returning to the hotel where the airport transfer was waiting. Simon, Ian and Dominic were staying on in resort with their wives - Kimberley, Sarah and Bex, so after waving goodbye to the other guests we skied to the Chalet des Pierres for a final lunch in the sunshine - the perfect finish to an amazing 3 days.

We hope can enjoy your ski break with us soo.
