Ski Event Management in Méribel...

Méribel received a good 8 inches of snow on Saturday evening so we woke to fresh powder for Easter Day - fabulous conditions for our Easter arrivals. I, Chalet Leonardo’s Ski Event Manager, took Julie and Kate Sandford on their ski orientation day yesterday and we had a fantastic time, despite the slightly cloudy weather. Kate had only been skiing for four days but she took to it like duck to water and we managed to get her over to Courchevel 1850 on the Loze chairlift. After a quick hot chocolate stop at Le Roc restaurant at the top of La Tania, we skied the Verdons run into the centre of Courchevel and headed to Kalico’s for a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, we took the Plantrey chairlift and skied Kate’s first red run, Beau Blanc, which was quite tricky in the fresh powder, but nothing seemed to phase Kate!

Yesterday, the Three Valleys was bathed in glorious sunshine and I Ski Event Managed the Gold’s and the Sterriker’s. It was only Paul’s fourth day of skiing but we went down the red piste, Creux, which takes you into Courchevel 1850 from the Saulire side of Méribel. We had a pit stop at the Pierre Plats restaurant, which serves the best hot chocolate in the whole Three Valleys (complete with whipped Chantilly cream and M & M's!) to give us some energy before heading down the Creux run. We had a little explore in Courchevel 1650 before taking the Gravelles chairlift back over to Courchevel 1850 for lunch. After a great day, we went straight back to Méribel and had an après drink in the Cactus Café to recover. These conditions are just fantastic for so late in the season!
