The snow arrives in time for the season start in Meribel...
Posted: Monday 7th December 2009 by leonardo
My name is Darragh O’Sullivan and I am the resort manager for Meribel this year. I have just spent the last few weeks working in head office preparing for the flexiski team to arrive here in resort. They all finally arrived on Sunday and are busy preparing some fabulous menu’s for your stay with us. For those of you who have been keeping an eye on the snow reports will have noticed that the three valleys were lucky a few weeks ago with an abundance of fresh snow, but no sooner had the first snow fallen, than this beautiful area of the Alps started to enjoy an unexpected Indian summer!
Since then the snow has been falling and plenty more is forecast for the week ahead, one could certainly be forgiven for thinking the season has already started. The bars and shops in town are opening up day by day and the three valleys management team are meeting tomorrow to decide which lifts and runs will be open for the official start of the season on Sunday 6th December.
We'll keep you posted, of course, with the latest weather reports and news from resort and if you are thinking of joining us for a pre Christmas break you may be interested that Meribel are running a "franglais semaine" and in essence prices have been reduced, all day every day, in all of our favourite haunts including Jacks, Barometer, Le Cactus, La Taverne and Le Rond Point.
"Franglais semaine" translated as happy week runs from 12th December.
I look forward to you joining us!
