50cm of fresh powder!

Since the weekend Val d’Isère has seen over 50cms of fresh snow fall. To our guests delight, the snow began to fall as they arrived and late into the night. On Monday the storm subsided, revealing Val d’Isère village dusted with snow and 15cms of fresh powder laid over the mountains. The clouds once again closed in during Tuesday, releasing a further 15cm of snow during the afternoon and flurries throughout the evening. Wednesday is set to be sunny, with strong cold winds blowing throughout the day. Despite the warmth of the sun you definitely need a few extra layers this week because of the wind chill. Early weather predictions are once again uncertain, as it swings between snowfall and blissful sunshine.

This week the Chase-Gardener’s party are unwinding in our cosy living area, while the younger members of the party have been enjoying themselves in Dicks Tea Bar just around the corner! The rest of the party have been relaxing in the beautiful eaves bedrooms and recounting the days events, with their private ski guide. Excitement is once again mounting in Val d’Isère village as the ‘Greeneye Ratrace’ entry forms were finally released over the weekend. Open to all, this epic treasure hunt takes place over the entire ‘Espace Killy’ range and is anticipated by all as the season comes to an end. Hosted by Saloon, which is situated on the snow front, teams gather at dawn to collect their first clue and get ready for first lifts. After that it’s a free for all, with the only rules being that there must be at least one female and one snowboarder in each team. The winner wins over 600 euros of ‘greeneye’ merchandise and the coveted retrace trophy, which is currently held by the Blue Note girls.
