Carnival night in Val d’Isère!
Posted: Thursday 18th February 2010 by Val dIsere
The weather in Val d’Isère has been interchangeable this week, with cloud coverage moving in fast from down the valley. Weather predictions are indicating intermittent snowfall into the weekend. The slopes are thronging with holiday makers, as it is half term, leaving the best time to ski is between 12pm-2pm, making the most of the quieter pistes. It has just started to snow and there’s 10-25cm predicted in the next 24hrs.
Chalet Balias is welcoming the Blair and Neale party this evening, who have come for a long weekends skiing. James, Chalet Balias’ resident Ski Event Manager, has his work cut out as several of the party are qualified ski instructors!
Spring has officially sprung in Val d’Isère as James and I, Chalet Balias’ resident Chef & Hostess, spotted their first Golden Eagle of the season and more wildlife will emerge from the depths of this years, particularly cold, Val d’Isère winter. Here in Val d’Isère we’re looking forward to carnival night tonight and plenty of fireworks over the next few days!
