Crisp, groomed pistes...

Posted: Wednesday 7th April 2010 by Val dIsere

The sun is once again shining over Val d’Isère, with temperatures rising to +9 degrees at 2000m yesterday. The breeze, although slight, has been welcoming with the increasing temperature and blazing sunshine. The snow, especially in the morning, is fantastic. The resort teams have been working hard to preserve the piste, with crisp trails groomed throughout the night for all to enjoy the following morning. Early weather forecasts show that the clouds will shortly return to Val d’Isère, hopefully bringing us some more snow with increased winds into the weekend.

This week Chalet Balias has seen a great mixture of guests, with single travellers, couples and young families all enjoying one another’s company. James and I, Chalet Balias’ staff, have enjoyed the company of Paul Toner and The Dean family, as we Ski Event Managed them over the ‘Espace Killy’ range for their first day on the slopes. The weather conditions were perfect, so we were able to ski right to the top of the Fornet Glacier and see for miles into the beautiful Vanoise National Park. James took the Dean family to ‘Le Signal’ restaurant for lunch, to enjoy generous portions of “Carbonara” and “Lemon Meringue Pie”, whilst enjoying the view of the dam from the sun terrace - the perfect way to complete a morning ski!
