Fun and frolics in Val d’Isère...

The weather in Val d’Isère has been changeable over the weekend, with a cold Northerly wind blowing in yet more snow. Temperatures have dropped down to a Baltic -17 degrees in the Val d’Isère village during the evening. Weather predictions for this weekend are due to remain interchangeable, with increasing winds of up to 60km/h and high covering cloud for most of the weekend.

Despite the January-like conditions, our guests are as keen as ever to get on the slopes to enjoy the superb snow conditions. This weekend the Booth party, a group of friends, have come to enjoy their ski break in the Chalet Balias. James, Chalet Balias’ resident Chef, and I, Chalet Balias’ resident Hostess, were also joined by Rosie, Chalet Leonardo’s Ski Event Manager, to show our guests the best places to ski in the ‘Espace Killy’ range. Rosie took our guests all over Val d’Isère, showing them everything from the cruisy blues at the top of the Solaise to the more challenging tree-lined runs in La Dialle. For lunch, the Booth’s enjoyed local restaurants on the mountain and particularly enjoyed the Trifollet, nestled in between the pistes in La Dialle. The Trifollet offers everything from champagne and oysters to local delicacies, which can be enjoyed in the cosy restaurant, private rooms or on the comfy sofas on the balcony.

The evening’s in the Chalet Balias have been full of laughter and entertainment, alongside delicious 4-course meal’s created by James. The Booth’s have embraced the lively Val d’Isère après ski throughout their stay, but have still been up bright and early for breakfast and enjoyed full days skiing on the mountain!

This week has been thoroughly enjoyed by all and it’s been delightful to have such good company with plenty of laughter and happy memories.
