Perfect views of 'Le Face'...

A fantastic second week in Val d'Isère for the Chalet Balias team this week. It started with stunning 'blue bird skies', and an excellent opportunity to test the snow for ourselves with the resident New Generation instructors. The vibe in the Val d’Isère village is buzzing with the excitement of the 'Premier Neiges' Men and Women’s 1^st competition of the season. The perfect views of ‘La Face’ meant that we could view the action from the warmth of our chalet and still hear the live commentary! All the bars are now taking shape, especially in Dicks Tea Bar with its new décor, staff and DJ guest line up.

Temperatures have considerably dropped throughout the week (as low as -15 degrees even in the sun). However, it is due to warm up slightly, with snow forecast for the whole weekend and into next week. According to Henry's Avalanche report, the snow base is excellent with the avalanche risk only at 2/3.
