Polo Masters and aromatic Vin Chaud...

It’s been an exciting week here in Val d’Isère, with the 2^nd annual Polo Masters taking place over the weekend. James, our resident Ski Event Manager, and I, our resident Chalet Host, were personally invited to watch the tournament on the snow pitch at the foot of ‘Le Face’. Several nations were represented in teams of three, to take place in fast-paced 40 minute matches. Despite the -17 temperature on the snow front a lively crowd formed to support the players and enjoy the pitch-side entertainment. Local bars, restaurants and hotels provided complimentary food and drink to keep us all warm. Most impressive of which was ‘Le Blizzard’ hotel, who served aromatic Vin Chaud, delicate seafood canapés and mouth watering miniature desserts from a hand-built ice bar!

The weather has produced ideal skiing conditions with another 15cm of snowfall over the weekend and beautiful blue skies today. The forecast predicts that the sun is set to shine for at least another day before the arrival of yet more snow on Wednesday afternoon.
