A Val d'Isère Christmas with sleigh-rides & fireworks...

It’s been all about the snow and Christmas cheer this week!

Temperatures have risen in the past week from a freezing -22 degrees to a milder -4 degrees, which has made our ski days much more pleasurable and of course brought us some snow. Visibility has been poor due to the cloud coverage, high winds and intermittent snowfall. Despite this we have had some amazing runs in La Dialle and La Fornet, catching some powder through the tree lines. The snow is falling as I type with Val d'Isère being engulfed by a blizzard showing no sign of easing off!

Last night we decided to test out the late night après in Bananas and Dicks Tea Bar. Bananas quickly filled up to bursting point with merry revellers, whilst Dicks Tea Bar didn’t disappoint either, with complimentary drinks being enjoyed by all. We saw in Christmas day with lively Christmas remixes before sledging our way home!

This Christmas day the streets of Val d’Isère village are quiet as everyone either relaxes in the warmth of their chalet in front of the fire with home cooked turkey and Christmas pud or après ski all day in one of the many cosy bars.

Val d’Isère is brimming with Christmas entertainment for everyone to enjoy from a beautiful torch lit descent down La Face, live jazz in the town square and horse-drawn sleigh rides to ski and snowboard demonstrations, firework displays and street performers. The endless entertainment is set to continue into the New Year, so we hope you come and join us soon...
