The ski in, ski out resort is the obvious big draw to the Hotel Crystal, Obergurgl in Austria. However, there are many more reasons than just the location to choose this hotel as your ski break accommodation.
The spa is stylishly designed with one of the largest Finnish saunas we've seen - certainly the largest in the Tyrol. And the three pools are stunning, offering fantastic spaces to relax in whether you're indoors or out. In total, the spa area makes up around 2,000 square metres - certainly a highlight. What makes it more unique is that this entire ski hotel is the first, above 2,000m, to be entirely fuelled by renewable energy. Good for us and good for the environment - just as a ski hotel should be.
The food is a delight too, with the hotel restaurant, steakhouse and more traditional Hohe Mut Alm to choose from before you take into account the cocktails and roaring fires at the bar or wine lounge. The Crystal Lifestyle Hotel is a sophisticated and stylish choice that still draws all the best bits from the traditional mountain refuge.
- Ski in, ski out location - you're right on the slopes
- All rooms have a balcony - a nice touch
- The three pools offer some stylish swimming spots
- Green credentials, using renewable energy only
- Private access to the gondola
- Whilst children can enjoy the pools with supervision, they must be over 14 years old to use the wellness sauna area
- The gym is a cardio room
- Complimentary underground parking space per room/suite
The Crystal Lifestyle Hotel is one of our favourites. Nestled in the mountains of Obergurgl, this ski location is perfect for those who want to relax, as well as enjoy a fun day on the slopes.
The Crystal sits oposite the Festkogel gondola at the bottom or a blue and a red run so all levels should have no problem skiing back to the door. The ski school meeting place is also only 70m away. To get to the town centre its a 5-10 minute stroll and the ski bus stops just outside.
