Doorstep skiing, the Hotel Le Mottaret is just off the green piste making it accessible to all. The flagship Madame Vacances hotel is a welcoming sight as you come across the terrace, passing the bubbling Jacuzzi and through the doors into the stylish lounge area complete with roaring open fire. The staff here are fabulous and almost every review seems to mention this fact. They're certainly doing something right.
At the very heart of the hotel is the lounge bar, a perfect place to sit back with a cocktail after a day on the slopes, and the in-house DJ does a decent job of creating a good ambience to fit the mood. The lounge leads onto the upper terrace with the hot tub which you can book out for an evening session for your group. The lower terrace houses the Café del Mott. An all-day BBQ restaurant with regular live music and DJs, an affordable lunch in-the-sun overlooking the mountains with great music - what more could you ask for.
- Location is fantastic, right beside the slopes
- Café del Mott outdoor bar and terrace with BBQ, cocktails, après, live music and DJs
- Outdoor Jacuzzi is great for a post-ski dip
- You can upgrade to all inclusive to include lunch and drinks - it's pretty good value
- Tourist tax of approx. 1.10€ per person per night payable locally
- To get down into Meribel it's easiest to catch the free shuttle bus
A green piste runs down beside the hotel and you can make it back to the door if you come off the side of it. The ski school meeting point is a five minute walk away. The resort centre is a few minutes walk away and if you want to get down to Meribel a free shuttle bus runs close by.
