A complete overhaul of Hotel Cotes for the 2017/18 winter season has turned the place into a great little hotel with comfort to match the locations convenience. Practically sat on the Clotes piste you can almost ski back to the door. We'll call it doorstep skiing rather than true ski in, ski out with the ski lift less than a minutes’ walk away.

The hotel has a sort of super chalet feel to it. Obviously much larger than average, but with a no-tree-spared, wood-everywhere type style, it's very mountain-esque. The communal space in the bar is great, complete with bean bags for a more laid back seating choice and the breakfast is hearty with plenty of choice.

What we like about Hotel Clotes

- Afternoon tea every day from 4 - 5pm in the Clotes Bar
- Almost ski to door location, and close proximity to the town
- The new refurbishment for 2017/18 winter season is looking epic-ally mountainous

Worth knowing

- If you want half board, they can do an upgrade where you'll eat at Restaurant La Grangia, 100 meters from the hotel
- There's plenty of parking in front of the hotel for 10€ a day
- The hotel is pet friendly

Sat right next to the Clotes piste, the Hotel Clotes in Sauze d'Oulx is as good as ski in, ski out - but not quite. The Clotes ski lift is under 100m from the hotel and takes less than a minute to get there each morning. Once off the mountain, you're on the edge of town and approximately 200m from the centre of resort.
