The 4* Hotel Wengener Hof has a quiet location towards the edge of the car-free village of Wengen. You're still within 5 minutes walk to the main gondola in town and the hotel will pick you up and drop you off at the train station on your arrival and departure, which makes it a pretty hassle-free stay.

The relatively small hotel (only 40 rooms) means the service is exceptional. Guests continually rave about the great service they receive here, how welcoming all the staff are; a very enjoyable experience. looking at the decor, it is more traditional floral print than minimalist modern chic, perfect if you love perusing the papers in the lobby each day and that grand hotel kind of feel. The lounge has a big open fire and there's also a bar and library to chill out in. Although snow covered in the winter, the gardens are extensive and the views are nothing short of breath-taking whether you're looking over the Jungfrau or down the valley.

What we like:

- Quiet location but still within easy walking distance to the gondola and town centre
- Spectacular views
- The service is very individual, you can't fault it

Worth knowing:

- The south-facing rooms have the best views and balconies
- You can use the wellness facilities free-of-charge at their sister hotel the Silberhon (there is a sauna in the Wengener Hof)
- The boot room is heated, for dry toastie boots each morning

Safety Advice

Please be advised that safety standards with regards to balconies differ in Switzerland and on occasion, you may be allocated a room whereby the balcony is lower than we would expect in the UK.

For your own safety, please ensure that you take care when on the balcony and do not lean on or over the railings. If you have children below the age of 12 in your party, please ensure that they are supervised and not left unattended at any time.
