Designed as one of the historic lodges of the great American West. The lodges that brought the wild nature of soaring mountains and vast lakes within reach. The Lodge at Edgewood captures the spirit of these retreats and combines them with the adventures of the roaming Mark Twain or the revered John Muir to make the place truly spectacular. Think high vaulted ceilings with huge glass windows accentuating the views of spectacular Lake Tahoe. From the moment you walk through the door, there's a real sense of awe and grandness.
The most luxurious address in South Lake Tahoe sits right on the lake with direct access to the fantastic south lake beach. Nature's colours run through the hotel with dark woods and oceanic blues creating a soothing, mellow atmosphere. Each room has a gas fire to warm up beside and a balcony or terrace to take in the sun or gaze at the stars.
It's a fantastic location tucked away from the high-rise casinos of the main town. Surrounded by a golf course that's covered in snow during the winter it has a fabulous feeling of escapism when the snow starts to fall. The Edgewood Spa will relax your ski legs before you choose whether to eat at the down to earth bistro or upmarket Edgewood Restaurant for its 'iconic' (according to the food network) New Zealand elk chop - it must be good.
- Complimentary shuttle to the Heavenly Gondola or into town
- Secluded lakeside location, away from the high-rise casinos
- Fantastic views from floor to ceiling windows, you'll never get tired of nature here
- Gas fireplace and balcony/terrace in every room
- Being 2 kilometres from the gondola you will need to use the hotel shuttle each day - you won't have to walk anywhere in ski boots
- There is an adventure centre for winter activities when you're not on your skis
On the lake with direct access to one of South Tahoe's best beaches (but you're not going to be sunbathing during the winter months). The lodge is just under 2km from the Heavenly Gondola, however, there is a complimentary hotel local shuttle to get to the gondola or into town and back, so no walking what-so-ever in your ski boots. Surrounded by the golf course, which becomes fields of snow once November's rolled by, it's well away from the high rise casinos and all-night parties. You're more likely to be caught star-gazing than rolling snake eyes at the craps table.
