Argentiere Apres Ski - Quieter than Chamonix, but still plenty going on
Apres ski in Argentiere has a more laid-back, local feel than neighbouring Chamonix, but there are still some great places to head once the lifts close. The best apres ski spots in Argentiere range from sunny slopeside terraces to lively pubs with live music, beer and cocktails, attracting a friendly mix of locals, season workers and visiting skiers.
If you're looking for a bigger night out, Chamonix is just down the valley and offers a much wider choice of late-night bars and clubs, easily accessed using the Chamonix night bus. But for a few drinks after skiing, there are some excellent Argentiere bars much closer to home.
Best Apres Ski Spots in Argentiere
The Office is one of Argentiere’s best-known apres ski spots, a lively pub in the centre of the village and a long-standing favourite with locals. Expect drinks, pub food with a Tex-Mex twist, live sport on the big screen and regular live music. It’s a good choice for a relaxed post-ski drink that can easily turn into a lively evening – and expect standing room only on big rugby nights.
Fubar is another of the main Argentiere bars for apres ski and late-night drinks. Close to Les Grands Montets, it has a lively, informal atmosphere and regularly hosts live music. Brave the bucking bronco, shoot some pool or dance into the night; it’s a particularly popular choice for groups looking to carry on after skiing and dinner.
Le Slalom is a small, friendly bar on Rue Charlet Straton, popular with locals and season workers. Known for its welcoming atmosphere, cocktails and great beer, it also hosts themed evenings and events, from 80s neon nights to tropical parties, keeping things lively later into the evening.
Le Demi is another popular Argentiere bar and a good addition to an evening exploring the village. With a relaxed, sociable atmosphere, it’s an easy place to stop for a post-ski drink and adds another option for those who prefer to stay in Argentiere rather than head into Chamonix.
Argentero, at the foot of Les Grands Montets, is one of the easiest places to begin your apres ski in Argentiere. Ski down at the end of the day, find a spot on the sunny terrace and enjoy a well-earned drink. It’s also a great meeting point earlier in the day, serving good coffee before you head up the mountain.
