Which are the best ski resorts for groups?

Choosing where to stay can be the hardest part for friends and family to agree on. With many preferences, it can be difficult to find somewhere that will keep everyone happy.

Big ski areas are always good as they offer a range of pistes to suit all abilities, and good après ski is another popular request with lively resorts drawing the majority of our groups. Also having something for the non-skiers in the groups is also a consideration for many. With all that in mind here are some of our top recommendations for groups:

When is the best time to book a group ski holiday?

For groups, it's always better to start organising early on. Booking at least 6 months in advance means you should get the best choice of accommodation (especially for larger groups), cheaper flight prices, and more time to pay off your balance.

So in general, the sooner-the-better - peak dates especially can get booked up a year in advance. It doesn't hurt to get the ball rolling now, it'll make life easier in the long run.

What is the average price of a group ski holiday?

The price of a group ski break can vary dramatically, anything from around £500 per person up to, well a lot more than that.

This all depends on: how long you go for, the resort you choose, the type of accommodation you choose, where you want to fly to and from, if you need ski / snowboard hire, if you like to eat out and apres a lot, if you need transfers and more.

For a 3 or 4 night weekend, we would always suggest budgeting £850 upwards. For a week long group ski holiday, we recommend budgeting £2,000 per person.

Which ski resorts have the best apres ski?

Having a lively apres ski scene can be a big draw for a group ski break.

Even if your whole group doesn't want to party each evening you're almost guaranteed to have a few amongst you who do. Even if you don't fancy dancing on the tables, having a little life in your ski resort makes for a much better atmosphere all round.

Apres ski does vary from country to country, with Austria kicking out epic, cheesy Europop hits, and France having more of a top hits and dance scene, with the Folie Douce's usually taking centre stage.

Our top picks for groups for top apres ski are as follows:
