About us

SkiWeekends is over 30 years old and has been operated by us for 15 years, now under the parent company of Ski Elements Ltd, we also acquired flexiski in 2021.  Like everyone, we were impacted by the pandemic and after a successful last winter we are now rebuilding for Winter 22/23.  The owners Sarah and Dan Fox are both passionate skiers who love the mountains and the ski industry, they have visited almost every resort and most hotels on the program and are involved on a day-to-day basis.  The teams both overseas and in the UK are at the heart of who we are and building a happy team who get the job done is core to what aim to achieve.

SkiWeekends and Flexiski were the UKs No1 and No2 short breaks operators pre pandemic. Ski Weekends; UK largest short breaks operator, focusing on its chalets and value 3-4 star hotels across the alps. Flexiski; with luxury chalets and 4-5 star hotels. Winter 22/23 will be grown to feature more than 50 resorts across 8 countries.

Reporting to:

Sales Director – we operate a flat and open structure, making decisions quickly.

Location & Hours:

Home-based, with occasional individual and team meetings in the New Forest or this role can be office based or a bit of both, we are flexible.

We accommodate flexible working hours by working as a team to ensure we have appropriate cover to handle customer enquiries. The role can be based on 30-40 hours per week, this can be reduced in the summer if required.

We don't let working from home get in the way of being a team that performs and has fun.

Role Overview

The primary responsibility of this role is to sell holidays, maximising conversion of enquiries to achieve targets. The role focusses on delivering a high level of service to customers, matching the right holiday with their requirements, and demonstrating meticulous attention to detail for all elements of their booking to ensure the holiday happens as expected.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Sell & book ski holidays – using your knowledge to guide customers to the right choice for them
  • Engage customers to book and rebook – forming relationships with customers who become our guests and choose to rebook with you
  • Work to targets to ensure maximum sales revenue, margin and conversion – both individually and as a team
  • Action telephone, emails and chat enquiries and online bookings – ensuring a speedy, honest response is the norm
  • Sell additional ski holiday services e.g. equipment hire, lift passes, transfers
  • Provide great customer service, always demonstrating our values – being proud of who we are and what you do
  • Accurately complete all administration related to customer bookings – getting it right for the customer and the business
  • Minimise loss to the Company through due diligence and attention to detail
  • Develop and maintain positive, happy, and constructive working relationships with all of the team in the UK and Overseas, agents and suppliers.
  • Support any other work as may be reasonably asked by the Company – have a "how can I help" attitude to being part of the family

Essential Skills and Attributes:

  • Passionate skier or snowboarder
  • French ski resort knowledge (3 valleys and Porte de Soleil knowledge is preferential) this is still the largest part of our business.
  • A broad knowledge of "how ski holidays work"
  • Selling and customer service skills that are appropriate and effective over the telephone, email and online chat
  • Proactively & effectively use all sales leads – providing great service to convert enquiries into bookings
  • Excellent, clear, literate, and engaging communication skills (both written and verbal) 
  • Accurately work with numbers to calculate holiday prices
  • Accurately provide holiday details
  • Ability to prioritise, multi task, and work calmly under pressure
  • A good team player, motivated by achieving team sales targets and finding the right holiday for the customer
  • Enthusiasm and desire to learn and to take on new responsibilities
  • Competent on Microsoft applications and can effectively and quickly learn new computer systems and booking processes
  • Highly motivated, flexible, and resilient to change with a positive 'can do' attitude

Additional information

The flexiski sales & customer service telephone lines are open 9am to 5.30 pm Monday to Friday in the summer. 

In our peak selling period (October – March) we are open between 9am - 7pm, Monday to Friday, with reduced opening times over the weekend 

Flexibility and rotas are planned with you to cover sales open hours
