A wonderful mix of historic elegance and modern luxury the Grand Hotel des Alpes has been around since 1840 and has been part of the very fabric of this famous alpine town for all those years.  From the early days that saw British aristocracy attempting to scale the surrounding peaks, Grand Hotel des Alpes has continued to welcome thrill seeking guests who share a passion for the mountains and the iconic town of Chamonix.

On the ground floor of the hotel there is a wonderful lounge area with a balcony overlooking the river and stunning views of Mont Blanc.  The bar is cool and sophisticated space to unwind at the end of the day.

Just a short walk from the Aiguille du Midi cable car and the bustling centre of town this is the perfect location to make the most of the many bars, restaurants, cafes and shops on offer.

The wonderful wellness area opens out onto the hotel gardens with views of the river and surrounding peaks.  Equipped with an indoor pool with water jets, a large jacuzzi, a sauna and steam room this is a wonderful place to relax and unwind.  As well as massages and beauty treatments guests can rejuvenate themselves with a session of halotherapy comfortably installed in front of a salt wall.

Every day, the Grand Hôtel des Alpes offers guests arriving from a days adventure with a sweet buffet from 4:00 p.m. for afternoon tea and an aperitif buffet (appetizers) from 6.30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  The location of the hotel in the heart of Chamonix means there is huge range of restaurants on hand with a variety of cuisines to suit all budgets and tastes.  The hotel has also partnered with local restaurants to allow guests to enjoy a food delivery to their room or suite.
