The hotel L’Avancher is a five minute walk from the centre of Val d’Isere, set in a peaceful location outside the hustle and bustle of the resort. The ski bus stop is 50m from the door and at the end of the day you’ll be able to ski right back to the hotel.

As one of the first hotels in Val d’Isere, welcoming guests since 1958, L’Avancher is reminiscent of an old chalet, creating an authentic alpine experience and with only 37 rooms, it has a genuinely intimate atmosphere. The rooms are comfortable and cosy with everything you need to enjoy your stay.

The hotel has a restaurant and bar with a wine bar on one side and a lounge area with roaring fire on the other - books, board games and even Go Pros are available to borrow.  The hotel also has a rooftop sauna, should you need to relax after a day on the slopes or book in for a massage before hopping in the jacuzzi.

What we like about Hotel L'Avancher

  • Complete rebuild for the 2017/18 ski season with a superb standard - we've had nothing but rave reviews about this hotel since
  • The spa has incredible views of the Face de Bellevarde - especially from the rooftop sauna
  • Ski back to the hotel each day and just a 5 minute walk to the resort centre

Worth knowing

  • Just outside the town centre - a quiet location and an easy 5 minute walk to all the action
  • Unsupervised playroom for younger children
  • The ski lockers are heated - so heated boots each morning
