It doesn't get much more central than the Hotel Fischer, sat beside the main pedestrianised square in St Johann, Austria. The family run hotel has a traditional look to it and Michael Grander and co put on some fabulous hospitality; from quips and smiles behind the bar to recommendations and advice. It's a welcoming place.
Much of the main hotel has been recently refurbished to give it a more modern and cosy feel but there's still that classic Tyrolean charm throughout. Complete with a sauna after your day on the slopes. Or if you're more of a pool person the hotel gives you free access to the public pools a 5 minute walk away.
Being a sister hotel to the Hotel Park, you can leave your boots and skis here (much closer to the slopes) on the heated racks meaning you can walk through town in your normal shoes rather than the clunky ski boots. Well worth taking advantage of.
- Central location surrounded by the pedestrianised streets and plenty of bars and shops
- Sister hotel to the Park means you can leave your skis and boots by the slopes - no carrying them through town
- Family run so extremely welcoming and fantastic service
- It is a 10 minute walk to the slopes, though the ski bus stops just outside
- You have complimentary access to the local public pool, including waterslides - perfect for kids
Situated perfectly, Hotel Fischer is a great getaway destination for those looking for a European ski break.
Smack in the middle of town the Hotel Fischer beside the pedestrianised central square, you'll be surrounded by St Johann's, shops, cafés, bars and restaurants. To get to the slopes the bus stops just outside otherwise it's about a 10 minute walk, though it's easy enough as the route's nice and flat(-ish).
